Omisore got N1.3bn from Dasuki funds —EFCC

Senator Iyiola Omisore The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has traced N1.310bn to some company accounts allegedly belonging to a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore. The money was said to be part of the N4.7bn allegedly disbursed by a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and his two sons, Gbolahan and Babajide. The N4.7bn was said to have emanated from the account of the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 and then transferred to the Diamond Bank account of Sylvan McNamara, a company in which Obanikoro’s sons are the signatories to its bank account. Omisore, who has since been declared wanted by the anti-graft agency, allegedly received the funds in four tranches from Sylvan McNamara between July and August 2014, a few weeks before the Osun State governorship election which he lost. NDLEA Chairman, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.) The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has called on parents to sensitise their children to the dangers of using illicit drugs. The NDLEA Director- General, Mrs. Roli Bode-George, who lamented drug abuse and trafficking among youths, said parents needed to join hands with the agency in the campaign against illicit drugs. Bode-George spoke in Lagos State on Wednesday during a walk against drug abuse and trafficking. The walk, which aimed at creating awareness on the dangers of narcotics, was part of the activities to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which would hold on June 26. She said, “The agency seeks to increase the level of awareness concerning drug abuse and trafficking. There are people who have drug abuse challenges but do not know how to get solutions. Kano: Yoruba leader’s killer to die by hanging

Justice Kabiru Auta of a Kano High Court  on Wednesday sentenced the killer of a Kano-based business tycoon, philanthropist and Yoruba leader, Alhaji Ganiyu Akanbi Bello, to death by hanging. The accused person, Abubakar Abdulrahaman (a.k.a Daddy), 28, was found guilty on one-count charge of culpable homicide, punishable by death, while he was discharged and acquitted in another charge of armed robbery. Abubakar was accused of murdering Bello on June 5, 2014 in his residence at the GRA Nassarawa, opposite Kano Race Course, when he stabbed the deceased in the heart with a kitchen knife. The prosecution, led by M.M. Sulaiman of the state Ministry of Justice, and assisted by the nominal complainant counsel, J.I. Macaulay of Kehinde Olaitan Chambers, called seven witnesses and tendered several exhibits. The exhibits included, the knife he used to stab the deceased and his Blackberry phone. President Muhammadu Buhari has warned those agitating for the Republic of Biafra as well as Niger Delta militants who are destroying oil installations in the region. Speaking at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday night at the breaking of fast dinner for members of the Federal Executive Council, Buhari asked Biafra agitators and the militants to reflect “very seriously” on the Civil War of 1967-1970 “where about two million Nigerians lost their lives.” He said: “And at that time, as young military officers, you hardly heard of anything about petroleum or whatever money you got from it. Manchester United boss  Jose Mourinho  has reportedly “vetoed” the idea of  Ryan Giggs remaining at Old Trafford as his assistant, as he believes the Red Devils legend could “become a potential managerial rival.” That’s according to the Times’ Matt Hughes, who reported that the Special One thinks the Welshman “distanced himself from Louis van Gaal and David Moyes at crucial times” during their reigns at United and is worried that Giggs cannot provide him with the “unswerving loyalty and complete support” he requires of his staff. Thirty-six year old Onyekachi Anele, is currently in police custody following the  death  of his wife after he dealt her a hefty  slap . Onyekach lives at Obibiezena in Owerri North LGA, Imo State, where the incident happened after he returned from an all night praying session on the first of June, 2016. Facebook, Twitter and other social networks have been temporarily blocked in  Algeria  to try to stop cheats posting high school exam papers online. Thousands of high school students are retaking part of their baccalaureate exams after details of earlier papers were shared on the internet, according to the state media. A government official source was quoted as saying: “The cut in social media is directly related to the partial baccalaureate exams that are taking place on Sunday. “This is to protect students from the publication of false papers for these exams.” The country’s 3G  mobile  network also appeared to be disrupted on Sunday. OJB Jezreel’s Family Release Burial Details

The family of late Nigerian music producer and artiste, Babatunde Okungbowa, aka OJB Jezreel who passed on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 have released details for his final burial rites. The respected music producer and singer battled with Kidney problems since 2013. He was consequently was flown to India for a transplant in 2013, after the successful surgery, OJB Jezreel, showered praises on his first wife, Mama J, for being there for him and donating one of her kidneys to save his life and also on the people, Fans and Friends that gave supports monetarily and otherwise. However, his kidney transplant failed again a week before his demise and OJB passed on. Jigga, as he was fondly called by close friends and asosociate was prepararing for his 50th birthday slated for 4th of July before his death. Police Nab Young Lady Who Accused Man of Being a Ritualist (Photos)

A young lady landed herself in a hot mess after she accused a man of ritualism. According to reports the young lady named Motunrayo (above) took to her Instagram page to accuse a young man named Abiodun Abdulahi Akinlawon (below) of being a suspected ritualist and fraudster.     She alleged that he was caught while trying to perform a ritual on another woman and is an internet fraudster currently trying to escape out of Nigeria to Dubai. A day after she made the accusation online, the young man reported her to the police and got her arrested for tarnishing his image. He then shared photos & a video taken during her arrest on Facebook
